Question: Why won't you add Metal Slug X, etc.. to NeoMAME?
Answer: I respect the wishes of the real MAME team. They work hard consistently to bring us quality software despite whats going on in emulation now. They don't want Metal Slug X, Puzzle Bobble 2, or Captain Tomaday emulated yet, so I won't add them.

Question: When I download GeoMAME and try to unstuff it, expander quits without doing anything. Why ?
Answer: Upgrade to Expander 5.0 or greater. The current version is 5.1.3 and can be found at http://www.aladdinsys.com/expander/expander_mac_login.html.

Question: What do I need to get started with GeoMAME ?
Answer: You need a copy of the Neo Geo Bios. There are three files, neo-sfix.rom, neo-geo.rom and ng-sm1.rom. Once you obtain them (from your NeoGeo i'd assume if you are using GeoMAME), either place them directly into your ROMs folder or put them together into one zip file called neogeo.zip. Before you ask, no I do not know where you can get these files.

Question: I have some ROM files in .zip format, but when I unstuff them, GeoMAME doesn't recognize them. How can I get GeoMAME to see the ROMs?
Answer: Leave them zipped. Like MacMAME, GeoMAME can read files as .zip . In fact, if you are not familiar with MacMAME, go download a copy here. Its a one-time download and will give you more extensive documentation that is excluded from the GeoMAME release to save space.

Question: When I launch a game, I get an "Out Of Memory" error, after which I increase GeoMAME's memory allocation. No Matter what I do, i can't get rid of that message. What should I do?
Answer: Leave the memory allocation alone. GeoMAME loads the entire RAM into any available RAM not used by the system and current apps (GeoMAME included). Basically, you need enough RAM to load the whole ROM (unzipped) into RAM. If you don't have that memory, nothing you do can get the game to load. Sorry.

Question: Why all these redumps? What's the difference between an MVS dump and an MGD dump?
Answer: In terms of gameplay, probably nothing. However, MGD dumps were taken from the home cartridge version of the game. These dumps cannot be burned back to chips and played on an arcade machine. MVS dumps are taken directly from the arcade boards and can be burned back to the arcade ROM chips. Since MAME is about arcade emulation, these home console dumps have to go.

Question: What games are supported by GeoMAME? What are the ROM names I need to have
Answer: With any GeoMAME or MacMAME release, all you need to do to find this out is go into the "Misc" Tab of the frontend, choose reports, and choose to generate a list of supported games. As of 1.0b4, that list is:
